Introducing a New St. Louis Food Blog:
Jenni's Ferris Wheel of Food

Jenni Ferris
Come along for the ride with Jenni, the blogger behind the new-ish St. Louis food blog, Jenni's Ferris Wheel of Food. Here's Jenni, in her own words:

"Hi my name is Jenni. I write Jenni’s Ferris Wheel of Food. The name explains itself, except it’s a play on words. My last name is Ferris. When asked how to spell it we always reply with “like Ferris Wheel”.

I started writing my blog at the encouragement of a very good friend. I was always posting pictures or descriptions of the food I was preparing on Facebook. One day she said, “You need to start a blog so I can bookmark all of these delicious looking meals.” And, the blog began over a year ago.

I tend to try new recipes except when my kids are home and demand the favorites. I haven’t found my exact style yet, as this love of cooking really picked up a couple of years ago. I found it difficult to juggle driving kids over 25 miles (each way) to school each day and creating a delicious and time consuming meal. Since moving “in town” a few years ago, the cooking bug hit me. It didn’t hurt that our new house came equipped with a beautiful Viking stove!

Now that we are empty nesters I am a bit more adventurous with preparations. I have started to dabble in curry, which is huge because I am not a spicy food lover! Next up? I think sushi.

My husband and I grew up in St. Louis. I went to Lafayette, if you must know. He went to Country Day. We met at Six Flags. I guess you could say we don't take life all that seriously. We try to enjoy every day to it's fullest. We only eat at local restaurants, no chains for us. I also try to buy local as much as possible."

Here's Jenni's sample of her favorite posts:
Blood Orange Olive Oil Ice Cream
Chicken Biryani
